We need you more involved with Democrat's messaging. Hello, DNC??
My brother, a long time surfer is living the dream. He and my sister in law, are in their forever California beaches and surrounding areas mode in their motor home!
David - appreciate your thoughts on the topic. I have to admit there are days when I feel despair, wondering what the Democrats’ plans are to win back voters. It seems we are in a tough spot.
Yesterday I read/watched Simon Rosenberg’s post with Tom Bonier, whose work throughout the 2024 campaign I really appreciated. For those who haven’t seen it, it’s his analysis of what happened in 2024, and it’s likely not what most people think: the Rs have been working on voter registration since 2020, and got ahead of the Dems. There are other factors of course: new voters registering as unaligned, serious money on the R team to help with voter registration, lack of messaging on the part of the Democratic party (too many Rs didn’t know the advantages brought about by Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act), the constant propagandizing by Fox, and more. Even though the Harris campaign made great strides, it was never going to be enough to pull her over the line. Which is a shame, because look where we are now. But Bonier and Rosenberg offer up some hope: we can all work to improve voter turnout - it dovetails with your message, in your book - especially with the actions of the prez landing negatively across so many segments of the electorate (immigration, health care, national security, education, etc.). It’s doable, and it requires all of us. Here’s the link to Simon’s convo with Tom: https://www.hopiumchronicles.com/p/dems-need-to-get-serious-about-partisan
Just ordered!
Thanks so much - I hope you like it!
Okay David, you've convinced me - preordering today!
Thank you! And if you like the book, let me know! (If you hate it, don’t let anyone know.)
